Various approaches to the issue of social integration of immigrants have been tried over the last twenty-five years in Great-Britian. The drawbacks of each approach have become apparent as have the paradoxical consequences of these efforts. More quantitative research is necessary concerning the process of social integration of immigrants and ethnic minorities. The political parameters of action in this area must also be re-examined.
