The teaching of ethnie relations explores the great historical manifestations of intolerance, examines whether groups in local society are victims of prejudice, and brings this information to the fore. In most intances, the teacher must make particularly explicit the cultural pluralism of his/her society, the arrangements for taking it into account and the existence of non-egalitarian competition, as well as the consequences that might result for society, groups and individuals. In our case, attention will be given to native and immigrant elements within the context of Canadian dualism and the relations between Anglophones and Francophones.
